HR, Training & Membership Assistant

Salary:  £20,000 – £23,000 dependent on experience and qualifications
Hours:    Full-time, some weekend working and overnight stays required
Location:  UK-Med head office on Oxford Road, Manchester
Travel:  Some travel in UK with potential for travel overseas

Deployment:  The post holder may have the opportunity to deploy overseas following further training

Are you a skilled administrator excited by the opportunity to work in a humanitarian health charity?

UK-Med provides emergency healthcare support in times of crisis and humanitarian emergencies. We work with other agencies to coordinate the UK Emergency Medical Team (UKEMT) – a national programme deploying healthcare services to sudden onset disasters on behalf of the UK Government – as well as deploying independently or in collaboration with other humanitarian NGOs. Now we need your help!

UK-Med recruits and trains UK-based health professionals to be deployed to provide healthcare in sudden onset disasters. As our new HR, Training & Membership Assistant you will be part of the team that administers the processes from recruitment through to deployment. This includes administering training (both face-to-face and online), DBS checks, checks on professional registrations, taking up references and allocating volunteers to on-call teams.

We are seeking an experienced administrator, ideally with a background in HR and/or training administration, to join our team in Manchester. You will have great interpersonal skills, and excellent attention to detail, along with excellent customer service skills. You will be passionate about our work and excited by the opportunity to contribute to our charitable objectives.

UKEMT Partnership Coordinator

Salary:  £35,000 (including London Weighting)
Hours:    Full-time, some weekend working and overnight stays required
Location:  The post will be based in central London working out of the office of the Humanitarian & Stabilisation Operations Team at Palladium.
Travel/Deployment:  Regular travel to the UK-Med Head Office in Manchester will be required, as well as to support training and meetings within the UK. On occasion you may be required to travel in support of our international programmes of work and will also be given the opportunity to access additional training in order to join the UKEMT in overseas deployments.

Can you ensure effective partnership working and coordination across a major humanitarian health programme?

Humanitarian Pharmacist

Salary:  c. £35,000 dependent on experience and qualifications (potentially more for an exceptional candidate)
Hours:  Full-time
Location:  Split between UK-Med head office on Oxford Road, Manchester and pharmaceutical storage facility within or close to Greater Manchester
Travel:  Some travel within the UK will be required and occasional overseas travel

Deployment:  Required to be available to deploy overseas with UK-Med teams for short periods.

Are you a qualified Pharmacist with an interest in working to support emergency humanitarian response?

UK-Med provides emergency healthcare support in times of crisis and humanitarian emergencies.  We work with other agencies to coordinate the UK Emergency Medical Team (UKEMT) – a national programme deploying healthcare services to sudden onset disasters on behalf of the UK Government – as well as deploying independently or in collaboration with other humanitarian NGOs.  We will soon be taking on responsibility for planning and maintaining pharmaceutical stores for the UKEMT and maintaining the pharmaceutical supply chain during a deployment.

We are seeking an experienced Pharmacist to join our team in Manchester.  You will be an established professional (with at least 5 years’ experience) and be excited by the opportunity to contribute to emergency humanitarian response.  You will be able to move quickly and effectively between management of supply chain, stock and warehousing to providing expert advice to clinical and logistical colleagues.

Travel: Frequent travel both UK and overseas, and including weekend working and overnight stays
